There’s nothing like beginning a month with a holiday to help it feel like it’s flying by like a firecracker. Pair that with a week long trip down to celebrate with family, and July has truly snuck up on me!

As I get back into the swing of things on the homestead, unpack, and hopefully dive productively into a few big sewing projects, I thought I’d host a giveaway to help get the second weekend of July (how did that happen!?) off to a fun start.

There are so many great prints in this collection–from the geometric play stash builders to the fabulous cicadas, all inspired by the rainy season in Japan. True to my naturalist heart, I love cicadas. I used to love to collect their exoskeletons from trees when I was a kid, and hook them all over my clothes to surprise the less-bug-loving kids on the block. Ahh, memories!

  1. Ooh, I love a rainy day (and there’s one coming up today!). Turn up the heater (it’s Winter over here), put on a good movie, get a hot cup of tea, put a quilt on my lap and pick up my sock knitting, or my latest appliqué project, or that quilt that’s waiting for the last few hand quilting stitches. Better yet, contemplate what to do with the latest range from Rashida Coleman-Hale – love that woman’s work!

  15. I follow FQS through all the various media you have listed. A funny story on Cicadas….My wife and I got married when the cicadas were out here in WV….they come back every 17 years…and that was this year. It makes it easy to remember. Our daughter likes playing with the shells too…if we win this giveaway I am sure my wife and I will share the loot!

  17. I follow FQS on all of the above and YouTube their videos are so full of great information! And I mostly order from them too they have a fabulous website their shipping is wicked fast and they have an extensive collection of fabric and thread !! Can you I’m a FQS fan ? 😊

  50. On a rainy day, sewing always feels right. Also, relaxing with a quilt & a good book. Baking is nice too.
